Let Us Tell Your Loved One's Story
A Celebrant is a person who is trained and certified to meet the needs of families during their time of loss. A Celebrant serves by providing a funeral or memorial service that is personalized to reflect the personality and life of your loved one.
Reid D. Moon
Meet Our Celebrant
Reid Moon has been a resident of the Zelienople community since 1988. He has 34 years of experience as a youth and senior pastor and served in a number of volunteer positions in the community. He has recently received advanced training from the In-Sight Institute to become a Certified Celebrant. His genuine compassion for those who have suffered loss, his interest in people and his skills in listening and public speaking make Reid well suited to come alongside families in their time of need. Reid and his wife, Krista, have three married children and nine grandchildren.
Life is full of opportunities to show someone we love them. One such opportunity is a funeral or memorial service. Such a loving event celebrates the significance of their life, the relationship you shared and honors the memory of your loved one. Reid can help you plan either a secular or faith-based funeral or memorial service that is a true reflection of your loved one’s life.
What does a Certified Celebrant Offer My Family?
Our Celebrant is specifically trained to design a service for your loved one that is completely personalized and individualized. Reid will meet with your family to gather stories, share memories, anecdotes and special moments in your loved one's life. At your family meeting, Reid will consult with those gathered to help design a service that best reflects and memorializes the life of your loved one by weaving your choice of music, photos, readings, personal mementos, and ceremonies into a service that celebrates your loved one. He then crafts a one-of-a-kind funeral or memorial service that incorporates those unique stories and experiences that defined your loved one. Then, at the time and place of your choosing, a celebration of life service will be held in their honor. This special gathering of family and friends is an important step in bringing healing to you and to all who participate.
The service can be anything you wish it to be: simple or elaborate, traditional or unique. No matter how it's tailored, such a ceremony is an important step in recovering from loss and a significant first step in healing.
“Love one another and you will be happy. It's as simple and as difficult as that.”
