Obituary for William J. Knebel

William J. Knebel, age 81, of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at St. Barnabas Nursing Home.

Born November 28, 1938 in Norfolk, NE, he was the son of the late Ernest H. Knebel and Elna K. Sasse Knebel.

Bill earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University and went on to earn a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He retired from Calgon Carbon in 1994 after working as a scientist and chemical engineer for many years. Bill was also a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Cranberry Township. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Gregory Knebel and his wife, Kimberley, of Cranberry Township, and Steven Knebel of Cranberry Township; his grandchildren, Shaelin Gregory, Olivia Tourlas and Eli Knebel; his great-granddaughter, Blake Gregory; and his brother, Donald Knebel of O’Neill, NE.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Knebel (Kasselder) who passed away on October 4, 1999.

A private viewing and service will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at the Boylan-Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home & Cremation Svcs., Inc., 130 Wisconsin Ave./PO Box 2155, Cranberry Township, PA 16066.

Bill will be laid to rest at Pinewood Memorial Gardens in Cranberry Township.
