Obituary for Sara Mae "Sally" Shoup Bergmann
Sara Mae “Sally” Shoup Bergmann, age 91, born on May 13, 1927 in Evans City, formerly of Cranberry Twp. and Evans City, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 5, 2018.
She was the daughter of the late Howard Shoup, Sr. and Altha Bradley.
Sally spent much of her younger years volunteering for many causes, including Civil Defense in the 1950s. She worked in the administration department at the Seneca Valley School District and the Butler School District. Sally was a faithful member of Dutilh United Methodist Church in Cranberry. She belonged to several organizations in Evans City and participated in the Lunch Bunch and the Junior Women’s Club.
She cherished her life-long friends and made many wonderful memories with them. Sally had an extraordinary zest for life and enjoyed her time with her children and grandchildren, who will miss her dearly.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters, Suzanne Bergmann Telakis (Mike) and Christie Bergmann Hart (Jim); her grandchildren, David Hart (Jennifer), Angela Telakis Stagnaro (Tony), Sara Hart (Matt Nall), Michael Telakis (Alyssa) and Emily Hart; and her great-grandchildren, Samantha, Landon, Konii, Melia, Leilani, Cooper, Sadie and Cameron.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Bergmann; her long-time partner, James Burkert; her sister, Altha, and her brother, Howard.
Friends will be received from 3-6 P.M. on Friday, December 7, 2018 at the Boylan Funeral Home, Inc., 116 E. Main St., Evans City, PA 16033.
Additional visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of the funeral ceremony at 11 A.M. on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the funeral home.
A private entombment will be held at the Zelienople Community Mausoleum.
